Al & grace

Two Far Flung is husband-and-wife duo Alan & Grace Murray.  Coming from somewhat different musical backgrounds, the couple combine their talents to create intimate songs and folk melodies.  Hints of Americana and Celtic roots can be found as their voices weave through warm harmonies, in a manner that has drawn comparisons to Mandolin Orange and Angus & Julia Stone.

Formed in 2016, the couple began the project whilst living hundreds of miles apart, with Alan in Scotland and Grace in London.  Now together in Glasgow, they write collaboratively, with Alan focusing on lyrics and melodies, while Grace concentrates on arrangements.

Brought up speaking both Gaelic and English on the Isle of Skye, Alan’s writing is steeped in the strong island traditions of storytelling and music-sharing.  Drawing lyrical influence from Mark Knopfler and Ryan Adams, the songs speak of hope, light and motion, often in a conversational style.

The duo’s debut EP - produced by Jack Henderson (Over The Rhine) - is due to be released in 2020.
